Inclusive cities in a global world
The Inclusive City promotes fair, non-discriminatory growth. It is a place where everyone has the opportunity and right to take part fully in the social, financial and political life that cities have to offer. IFHP and the City of Gothenburg are the joint organisers of the annual IFHP Congress 16-19th of September 2012, which will focus on these urgent and contemporary issues.
The Congress will have two main themes:
a) How can social planners and city developers together with other bodies contribute to counteracting growing social segregation in our cities?
b) Many large cities around the world are about to embark on major urban transformation projects, such as the old port area in Gothenburg. For whom and with whom are we transforming and developing our cities and what are the new tools available to us?
